Prepare Your Tools
You will need:
- Quality shampoo (suited to your scalp type)
- Conditioner (if you have longer hair or dry ends)
- A clean towel
- A hair dryer with a concentrator nozzle
Tip: Always wash your hair twice. The first wash removes styling products and dirt; the second actually cleans the scalp and opens the hair for care.
Wash and dry steps at home
-
Double wash and massage
- Apply a small amount of shampoo and massage the scalp in circles with your fingertips (avoid nails).
- Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Water that is too hot dries the scalp and can cause dandruff.
-
Gentle towel drying
- Never rub wet hair hard with a towel; wet hair is fragile and breaks easily.
- Gently squeeze water out instead. Hair should stay damp, not dripping.
-
Blow-dry into shape
- Set the dryer to medium heat. Dry against the direction of growth to lift hair from the roots.
- If you have longer hair on top, use your fingers or a comb and pull sections upward. That builds natural volume that lasts all day.
