Prepare Your Tools
You will need:
- A water spray bottle (or damp hands are enough)
- A hair dryer
- A comb or brush
- Styling product (just a small amount to refresh)
Tip: Never layer new styling on completely dry, messy hair. You will only create a heavy, greasy "helmet." You need to wake the hair up first with moisture and heat.
Morning refresh steps
-
Dampen and reactivate
- Lightly mist the hair with water or run damp palms through it. The goal is not to soak the hair, but to break pillow creases and reactivate leftover product from the day before.
-
Heat reset
- Use a dryer and blow the hair back into the direction you usually wear it. Heat softens old wax or pomade so you can work with it again.
- Use a comb to tame stray sections.
-
Minimal product for hold
- Now you only need a tiny amount of product (about half what you use after washing).
- Apply mainly where hold is missing and refine details with your fingers. The style will look fresh and light.
