Prepare Your Tools
You will need:
- Beard oil (to hydrate the skin)
- Beard balm (nourishment and light styling)
- A boar bristle brush
- A beard comb
Tip: Apply oil and balm ideally after a shower. Heat opens pores and both beard and skin absorb nutrients better.
Care steps
-
Skin hydration (oil)
- Place 3 to 5 drops of oil in your palms (amount depends on beard length).
- Spread and massage with your fingers down to the skin under the beard. Oil is mainly for the skin so it does not itch or flake.
-
Protection and shape (balm)
- Take a small amount of balm and melt it in your palms.
- Apply to the surface of the beard. Balm coats the hairs, protects them from weather, and helps tame flyaways.
-
Brushing: the most important step
- Use a boar bristle brush to distribute products evenly along the full length of the beard.
- Brushing also massages the skin and removes dead cells, which supports healthy growth.
