We bring you a series of interviews with our colleagues. We ask them different questions to introduce them in more detail.
You are at the Modřany branch. What is a typical client like there?
A mix of local families and regulars who come every three or four weeks. People want a reliable cut without fuss, but still with attention to detail. Modřany has a strong community, so we often fine-tune small changes between visits.
Your portfolio includes styles like Leoš Mareš or pushed back. What matters most on those cuts?
For pushed back, hair direction and crown volume are key. It should look neat, not stiff. With celebrity-inspired shapes I do not copy photos one to one. I work with the client’s proportions: cowlick, growth speed, and how many minutes they want each morning.
You speak Czech, Slovak, and English. When do clients appreciate that most?
When they describe what they do not want but lack barber terms. Slovak or English is often faster than searching for the right Czech word. The result is a calmer consultation and fewer surprises at the mirror.
What is a good end of service at the chair for you?
When the client checks side and back profiles, gets a short tip on product or brush, and knows when to return. I do not want them to leave with only “thanks”, but with a plan to maintain the cut until the next visit.
