Classic Clipper:

Electric – either corded or cordless, used to shorten hair and beard lengths.

Hairdressing Scissors:

Hair Dryer:

Used for drying hair with warm air and may be equipped with different attachments for various styling, with the most common attachment being a “diffuser” today.

Comb:

Used for detangling and straightening hair before cutting or styling.

Styling Brush:

There are many types of brushes for different purposes, such as creating volume, straightening hair, or shaping wavy hair.

Shaving Brush:

Used to remove leftover hair and skin after shaving and to clean the barber’s clipper.

Shaver / Foil Shaver:

For the smoothest removal of all types of hair and stubble, it is often more efficient for shaping beards than a traditional shavette/razor.

Shaving Foam or Gel:

Used to moisten the beard and skin before shaving, which increases comfort and reduces irritation.

Aftershave:

Helps soothe the skin after shaving and prevents irritation and redness.

Hair Sprays, Mousses, Pastes, and Waxes:

Products used to fix hairstyles, add volume, or give texture to hair.

Ensuring the proper tools and their correct use is an important key for barbers of all levels.
