Hair Dryer – Its Function, Accessories, and Cleaning
A quality hair dryer should have at least two basic functions: ionization and a separate cold air button. Hair dryers with ionization function have a generator that produces millions of cleansing negative ions, which maintain the natural hydration and shine of the hair. These negative ions also reduce frizz and flyaway hair caused by static electricity, leaving the hair smooth, shiny, and adding volume. A dryer with ionization is gentler on the hair, and regular use of such a dryer helps improve nourishment, providing long-lasting shine and smoothness. A practical feature is the separate cold air button. This button does not affect the health of your hair, but it is useful for styling. Cold air is ideal for setting the hairstyle created with the higher heat of the dryer.
Accessories
To achieve a smooth result, it is essential to use an air concentrator nozzle. This plastic attachment with a wide and narrow opening at its end concentrates the air to a specific point and directs warm air exactly where you need it. It is ideal to use this air concentrator when drying hair and creating styles with a brush, whether flat or round. For those with curly hair, a diffuser is a must-have. This flat round attachment with several raised tips allows for even drying without damaging or disturbing individual curls. It can also be used for straight hair to increase volume, but not to curl it.
Proper Cleaning of the Hair Dryer
To ensure your hair dryer lasts as long as possible, it is necessary to take care of it. Don’t worry, it’s not a complicated process! Over time, the dryer can accumulate dust and loose hair, which may lead to reduced performance or overheating, potentially damaging the hair due to excessive heat. Therefore, it’s very important to clean the dryer. Nowadays, there are hair dryers with a removable rear filter grille. We highly recommend this type! To clean it, simply remove the grille, clean it of accumulated hair and dust, and also clean the internal part of the dryer before reattaching the grille. For dryers with a fixed rear grille, cleaning is a bit more complicated, but you still need to use, for example, a brush to remove dust and trapped hair.
