Interview with Káťa

We bring you a series of interviews with our colleagues. We ask them different questions to introduce them in more detail.

At Modřany your specialties include fade, mohawk and afro hair - what do you enjoy about that mix?

That you cannot settle on one template. One client wants a clean fade, another a bold mohawk, then someone with a curlier structure walks in. You have to be ready technically and mentally. That variety keeps me sharp - and I still enjoy it.

Pokemon hair tattoo sounds unusual - how does that idea start in the chair?

Usually with playfulness. The client wants something original but still wearable. We discuss shape, size, and whether it should be a subtle detail or a stronger motif. It has to fit the cut as a whole - not look like a sticker on top.

You speak Czech, English and Slovak - does that help with clients?

A lot. Some people express themselves better in their mother tongue, others in English. When I sense hesitation, I switch language and suddenly everything is clearer. Barbering is not only the cut - it is also making people feel safe in the shop.

How do work and personal life blend for you?

Honestly, a lot. Barbering is not just a shift for me - it is a way of thinking: detail, aesthetics, caring for people. Outside work I like traveling and photographing what inspires me. Sometimes I try new techniques at home. When you love it, the line between job and hobby gets thin.
