We bring you a series of interviews with our colleagues. We ask them different questions to introduce them in more detail.
How did you get into barbering and what do you enjoy most?
I started for practical reasons - I wanted work with a clear result and people contact. Then the craft itself hooked me. My favorite moment is when a client first sees themselves in the mirror and lights up. At Barrandov we have a very mixed clientele, so no day is the same.
You like beard coloring and shorter cuts - what is the challenge?
With beards it is mainly balance. Color must fit skin, face shape, and how the client wears the beard at home. With a buzz cut or crop, every detail around the ears and hairline matters. I like explaining why I choose a tone or length - when clients understand the logic, cooperation is easier.
You speak Czech and English - does that change the approach?
A lot. Some clients are shy in Czech but open up in English and say exactly what they want. In both languages I keep it simple, without jargon. Barbering is also about trust - when someone feels understood in their language, the whole visit has different energy.
What do you do outside the shop to recharge?
I like walks around Prague and occasional workouts. Nothing fancy, but it clears my head. In the evenings I often watch a tutorial or Instagram inspiration - more habit than duty. Barbering does not really leave me at home either.
