Massage myths. What is true and what is a myth?<\/h1>\n

1. Massages are just for relaxation \u2013 myth<\/h2>\n

Many people think that massages are just a nice way to relax. However, in reality, they can help address a variety of health problems. For example, sports massage focuses on relieving muscle tension, while rehabilitation massages help with recovery after injuries or surgery. Thus, massage is often recommended by doctors as an adjunct to medical treatment.<\/p>\n

2. Effective massage has to hurt \u2013 myth<\/h2>\n

Massage does not have to be painful to produce results. Gentler techniques, such as lymphatic massage or classical massage, produce great results without pain. On the other hand, pain during massage can mean that too much strain is being placed on muscle tissue, which can cause inflammation or microtrauma.<\/p>\n

3. Massage is only for athletes \u2013 myth<\/h2>\n
